Thrace, Maroneia.   Stater circa 350, AR 11.30 g. Horse with loose bridle prancing l.; below, dog l. Rev. ΕΠΙ Κ – ΑΛΛ – ΙΚΡΑ – ΤΕΟΣ around square in which vine with four clusters of grapes; the whole within incuse square. Jameson 1061. A.B. West, Fifth and Fourth Century Gold Coins from the Thracian Coast, ANS NNM 40, 88. Schönert-Geiss 491.
Struck on exceptionally fresh metal and with a wonderful
light iridescent tone. Good extremely fine
