Greek Coins. Macedonia, Acanthus.
Tetradrachm circa 480-424, AR 17.27 g. Bull with head raised, crouching to l. attacked by lion leaping on its back to r.; in field above, ΔI and below, branch. Rev. AKA - NΘ - IO - N around raised quadripartite square; all within incuse square. Gulbenkian 392. Desneux, unlisted dies for type104-106.
Struck on a broad flan and perfectly centred. Lovely iridescent tone and good very fine

Privately purchased from Tom Cederlind at the 1998 F.U.N. Convention. Ex Ponterio 157, 2011, 2048 and Roma Numismatics II, 2011, 230 sales.
