India, Samudragupta, circa 344 – 378 AD
Dinar, Archer type, circa 344-378, AV 7.74 g. King, nimbate, standing l., holding bow and reverted arrow; in l. field, Garuda standard with crescent above. Rev. The goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated facing on throne, holding fillet and cornucopia; resting feet on lotus. In l. field, symbol. BMC Gupta 22 bis and pl. IV, 7. Kumar p. 199, Class II, variety A.1 (this coin illustrated). About extremely fine Ex Hess-Divo 314, 2009, 1251 and NAC 117, 2019, 230 (sold for 2000 and not paid) sales.
