Description

Greek Coins Syracuse Tetradrachm circa 310-305, AR 17.18 g. Head of Persephone l., wearing barley wreath, triple-pendant earring and necklace. Around, three dolphins. Rev. Fast quadriga driven l. by charioteer, holding kentron and reins; above, triskeles l. SNG ANS 641 (this obverse die). Ierardi 77. Well struck and centred on a very broad flan and with a lovely tone. Obverse from a slightly rusty die, otherwise extremely fine Ex NAC sale 77, 2014, David Walsh, 19.
