Description
ABBASID, temp. al-Rashid, lead seal, mimma amr bihi│ ‘Ali b. al-Hajjaj │ [unread], 23.83g, almost very fine and rare. According to al-Tabari, ‘Ali b. al-Hajjaj al-Khuza‘i was appointed governor of Jurjan in the year 176. He was also Harun al-Rashid’s chief of police at one time (al-Tabari 613).
