F., Ariadne on Naxos, bronze plaquette, late 15th century, Ariadne, abandoned by Theseus on Naxos, seated in the centre, surrounded by Bacchic revellers, 51.9mm (Molinier 130-132; Bange 648; Kress 97, fig. 128 (57mm with rim); Warren, Ashmolean, 277; Scaglia VI.7, C.23, this piece), lacking the outer rim, a very fine contemporary cast with some chasing of the field around the figures, brown patina.
