R.A.F.), Victory Medal, erased; Groups swing-mounted on card for display, generally extremely fine (8) Driver Clement Baker Sheryer (1887-1914), of Beckenham, Kent, served as a Driver with No. 8 Field Ambulance, A.S.C., and died on active service (of uncertain causes) on 31 October 1914 at ‘La Croix Marmuse’. He is buried at Vieille-Chapelle New Military Cemetery, Lacoutre.Private Charles Daniel Sheryer (1877-1942), of Acton, Middlesex, understood to the half-brother of the above, served in the Great War with the 6th Battalion, East Kent Regiment (The Buffs). He rose to the rank of Flight-Sergeant in the R.F.C. on 1 December 1916,seeing service in Cairo, Egypt, and was later transferred to the R.A.F. as Chief Mechanic on 1 April 1918.
