Ellam, W. Riding Regt); King’s South Africa, 1901-1902, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (5901 Pte G. Ellam. W. Riding Regt); 1914-15 Star (5901, Pte. G. Ellam, W. Rid. R.); British War Medal, 1914-1920 (5901 Pte. G. Ellam. W. Rid. R.); Group loose, lightly toned, suspensions slightly loose, edge nicks and bruises to first, very fine to good very fine (4) Corporal George Ellam of the 1st Battalion, The Duke of Wellingtons (West Riding) Regiment, served in the Boer War and was slightly wounded in action near Morgenzal on 30 November 1901 whilst on attachment to the 15th Mounted Infantry (with entitlement as above, roll confirms). He also served during the Great War, entering France and Flanders on 4 May 1915, and being discharged to Class Z Reserve on 14 March 1919 (Victory Medal absent) at the rank of Corporal.
