*Hyderabad, 1843, with original steel clip and straight bar suspension (Lieut. Fredr. Foster Taylor. 3rd Cavy.), officially engraved in upright capitals, once cleaned, with clip re-tightened at some point, very fine. Captain Frederick Foster Taylor (d.1856) served at the Battle of Hyderabad on 24 March 1843 with the 3rd Bombay Cavalry. Having reached the rank of Captain, he died on 4 April 1856 at Aboo, India, at the Bombay Invalid Establishment. According to Gordon’s British Battles and Medals (5th Edition), he is recorded as having been awarded two possible medals.
