Top Pop: this is the most beautiful graded example ! For this variety (5 rolls and 9 leaves), our specimen is the most beautiful graded at NGC on 9 specimens PROOF; the most beautiful in CA (cameo) is 63 on 4 graded, and in UC (ultra-cameo), on 24 graded specimens, the best is 64* and the second grade is 64
NGC PF 64. (PROOF). Edge inscribed: DECUS ET TUTAMEN * ANNO REGNI TERTIO* (not visible with the shell). The velvet of striking hardly touched on the high points of the relief. Very close to its mint condition. Nice cameo appearance with the mirror and glazed fields in clear contrast with the reliefs. Proof and Uncirculated.

Designed by William Wyon (1795-1851) in 1839 to commemorate the beginning of Victoria's reign (in 1837), the £5 coin "Una and the lion" is recognized as one of the finest British coins. Victoria, accompanied by a lion, walks on the left, with the motto "May God direct my steps". The young Queen, then aged 20, is depicted as Lady Una, based on a character in Edmund Spencer's 1590 poem The Faerie Queene. This bold design is the first depiction of a British monarch as a fictional character: the lion representing England is led by Queen Victoria, as Una, who guides it with her sceptre.
