Caligula (37-41). Aureus avec le divin Auguste 37-38, Lyon.
NGC Ch AU 5/5 2/5 marks (5788897-002).
Av. C. CAESAR. AVG. GERM. P. M. TR. POT. Tête nue à droite de Caligula.
Rv. DIVVS. AVG - PATER. PATRIAE. Tête radiée à droite du Divin Auguste.
Calicó 331 - RIC-9 (R3) - Giard, Lyon 159/2 (cet exemplaire) ; Or - 7,70 g - 19 mm - 8 h
Exemplaire dont l’historique est parfaitement connu : Provient d’une vente Bourgey, 2 au 6 mars 1925, Collection Récamier n° 120 puis Leu 10, 29 mai 1974, n° 46 et Leu 38, 13 mai 1986, n° 229 et enfin NAC 54, 24 mars 2010, n° 328.
NGC Ch AU 5/5 2/5 marks (5788897-002). Très rare avec la tête nue de Caligula, seuls 3 exemplaires connus dont notre exemplaire et ceux de Vienne et Copenhague. De minimes marques de contact sinon de remarquable qualité, Superbe à Fleur de coin.

NGC Ch AU 5/5 2/5 marks. 大変希少なカリグラの無冠肖像 現存わずか3枚 (当該コイン造幣所のほか、ウィーン、コペンハーゲン) ごくわずかなアタリはあるが、見事な高品質 極美品〜完全未使用

Radiate head of Divine Augustus facing right. Calicó 331 - RIC-9 (R3) - Giard, Lyon 159/2 (this specimen) ; Gold - 7,70 g - 19 mm - 8h. Specimen with a well-known history : from Bourgey, 2nd to 6th of march 1925, Récamier Collection n°120 then Leu 10, 29th of may 1974, n°328 and Leu 38, 13th of may 1986, n°229 and finally NAC 54, 24th of march 2010, n°328. NGC Ch AU 5/5 2/5 marks. Very rare with bare head of Caligula, only 3 specimen known (ours, another in Vienna and another in Copenhagen). Minimal contact traces, otherwise outstanding quality. Almost uncirculated.
