Anandas of Karwar, Chutukulananda (280-320 AD), Banavasi Region, Copper Alloy Unit, Obv: Lion standing facing right on six arched hill, damru symbol in front of it and Brahmi legend above “Rajno Chutukula(nandasa)”, Rev: tree railing within twelve compartments, 5.77g, 25.47mm, (unpublished and unreported), about extremely fine with original patina, Extremely Rare. An interesting coin which could have been struck with the influence from those of Satavahanas Lion type. It was struck by the Chutukulananda from the North Karnataka region, “Rajno Chutkulnanada” is the arrangement of legends what we see on the coins from this dynasty. First reported coin for the type.
