Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II (Vikramaditya) (375-415 CE), Gold Dinar, "Horseman - Left" type, Obv: the king riding a horse to the left, wearing a necklace and armlets, his sash flowing out behind him, a sword hangs down on his left side, Brahmi legend "Paramabhagava(to Maharajadhiraja Sri) Chandragupta" around the field, the letter 'pta' of the legend placed between the head of the king&the head of the horse, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, seated facing left on a draped stool her left hand resting above her waist, holding a lotus with a long stalk, her right hand holding a noose, a tamgha on the right field, Brahmi legend "Ajitavikrama" on the right, 7.66g, 20.0mm, (Variant of Altekar. Bayana Hoard # Pl. XIV-1/Variant of BMC # Pl. IX-16/Variant of TOTGE, S. Kumar # Class I-Var. D), deep and bold strike, choice extremely fine, Very Rare.
