Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi, Vishnuvardhana I alias Vishama Siddhi (6 Century CE), Copper Base Alloy Unit, Vishnukundin type, Obv: a roaring lion standing facing the right with one foreleg raised, its tail curled towards its back, a Srivatsa in front, the Brahmi legend "Shri Vishama" above, Rev: a bold Srivatsa between two tridents, a linear border with serrations around the field, 3.27g, 15.86mm, (Variant of Chattopadhyaya # 64, Unlisted type), sharp strike, about very fine, Very Rare. Note: The Eastern Chalukya rulers continued minting their coins in the same fashion as their predecessors, the Vishnukundins. Vishnuvardhana I's issued coins that have the Brahmi legend 'Shri Vishama Siddhi' clearly visible above the lion, but in later issues the legend is often shortened.
