In the past, the region including Beyşehir Lake was known as Pisidya. It was the name of a city in Pisidia known as Karallia.
Ramsay evaluates this issue as follows; “There were probably two cities, one in the southeast of the lake, at the mouth of the water flowing into Lake Trogitis, and the other in the southwest. Since the latter is more likely to be Parlais, you have to accept the first as Karallia.
. ” Again, according to Ramsay, Karallia was named Skleros during the Byzantine period. Karallia, which was later destroyed, was named Viranşehir.
