Description

Kings of Macedon, Alexander III the Great 336-323 BC,
3. A very rare coin minted in Lydian Sardine with a diameter of a quarter stater unit during the Alexandros (Alexander the Great) period.
Portrait of Athena dressed in Corinthian Helmet on the obverse of the coin, On the reverse, Nike, the goddess of victory, is with her wings open, with a wreath in one hand and a pen in the other to write new victories.
While ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ is visible on the back of the Nike, a Griffin head is depicted in front.
Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. in Pella, Macedonia, as the 2nd Philippine son who was a member of the Argead dynasty and the Macedonian king. He was educated by the famous philosopher Aristotle until the age of 16. When he was 20, he ascended the throne as the new king of Macedonia as a result of the assassination of his father Philip II.
Alexander the Great had 3 marriages. These are Roksana, 2. Stateria and 2. Parysatisti.
Breaking the Persian power, he bound all the cities and expanded his empire in a very short time.
it devastated the Persian Empire, especially in Isos and Guagamela.
Later, King of Persia III. He overthrew Darius and completely conquered the Achaemenid Empire.
At this point, his empire extended from the Adriatic Sea to the Beas River. Alexander sought to reach the "end of the world and the Great Outer Sea" and invaded India, winning a significant victory over Pauravas in the Battle of Hydapses in 326 BC.
He eventually returned at the request of his homesick troops and died in Babylon, where he planned to declare the capital in 323 BC, before he could realize his campaign of invasion of Arabia. Condition Very Good 2.14 gr. 16 mm.
