Pre-Viking Silver Ribbed Buckle with Plate. 6th-7th Century AD
A substantial silver buckle comprising: a penannular loop with raised rib detailing; a long tongue with similar rib ornament, conical in plan with the forward edge passing over the front of the loop; a D-shaped plate connected by two short straps to a corresponding plate on the reverse, decorated with three domed rivet-heads and a border of punched triangles.
