★ A rare left facing antoninianus of Tetricus III from the 1967 Rockbourne Hoard ★
Tetricus II, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 273-274. Antoninianus (Bronze, 20 mm, 2.30 g, 7 h), Cologne, 274. C PIV ESV TETRICVS CAES Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Tetricus II to left. Rev. SPES AVGG Spes advancing left, holding flower in her right hand and raising her skirt with her left. AGK (corr.) 9c. Cunetio 2655. Elmer 793 ('Trier'). RIC 270. Rare and with a lovely left-facing portrait. The reverse weakly struck, otherwise, very fine.
This coin was part of the 1967 Rockbourne Hoard, which contained 7717 coins and was found in a Roman Villa.
