CILICIA. Flaviopolis-Flavias. Maximinus I, with Maximus Caesar, 235/6-238. Hexassarion (Bronze, 38 mm, 31.82 g, 6 h), CY 163 = 235/6. [ΑΥ]Τ Κ Γ [Ι] ΟΥΗ ΜΑΞΙΜЄΙΝΟϹ Γ Ι ΟΥΗ ΜΑΞΙ[ΜΟϹ Κ] Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus I, on the left, facing radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximus, on the right. Rev. [Φ]ΛΑYΙΟΠΟΛЄΙΤωΝ / [ЄΤ] ΓΞΡ Serapis seated facing, wearing kalathos, sacrificing from patera in his right hand over lighted altar and holding cornucopiae in his left; to left, amphora; to right, skyphos. SNG Levante 1553. SNG Paris 2196-7. SNG von Aulock 5565. Struck on an unusually large and heavy flan. Some flan faults, otherwise, very fine.
