ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.85 g, 1 h). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath and taenia. Rev. HΡAKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club with his right hand and with quiver and lion skin over his left shoulder; to inner left, M. SNG Copenhagen 1039. A lovely piece of fine early style. Light scratch on the obverse and with a plugged hole, otherwise, very fine.
