Description

★ A very rare variety ★

BRUTTIUM. Kaulonia. Circa 420-410 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 8.00 g, 7 h). Apollo, nude, advancing to right, holding laurel branch in his upraised right hand and extending his left; to right, bull with lowered head on pediment. Rev. [KAYΛΩNIATAΣ] Stag standing right; to upper left, sprig of plane with three leaves. HN Italy 2058. Noe, Caulonia, 124. A very rare variety. Struck slightly off center and with a banker's mark on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s.
