CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 6.43 g, 12 h), Kynon, magistrate. Nude youth riding horse walking to right, raising his right hand to crown the horse's head; above, monogram of AP; below, facing mask of Silenos; below foreleg, KY/[NΩN]. Rev. TAPAΣ Youthful oikist, nude, riding dolphin to left, holding kantharos in his right hand and resting his left on the dolphin. HN Italy 1031. Vlasto 859. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
