PHILISTIA (PALESTINE). Uncertain mint. Mid 5th century-333 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.08 g, 6 h). Bearded male head to right. Rev. Janiform head, composed of a male head to right and a roaring lion to left; to upper right and lower left, olive sprigs; all within dotted square within incuse square. Gitler & Tal XVI.21Da ( same dies ). Of the highest rarity. A wonderful, bright and attractive coin of exceptional style and iconography. Two test cuts, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
