SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.33 g, 1 h), circa 310-306/5. KOPAΣ Head of Kore to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, single-pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. AΓAΘOKΛEIOΣ Nike, bare to waist, standing right, about to attach a helmet to a trophy, she holds a hammer in her right hand and a nail in her left; to lower left, triskeles running right. Ierardi 146 (O38/R99). SNG ANS 674 ( same dies ). SNG Lockett 1005. An attractive piece with lovely dark collection toning. Struck from the usual somewhat worn dies, otherwise, good very fine.
