KINGS OF SOPHENE. Arsames, circa 255-225 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 18 mm, 4.62 g, 1 h), first series. Head of Arsames to right, wearing bashlyk with beaded edges, tied with a diadem. Rev. [BA]ΣIΛE[ΩΣ / A]PΣAMOY Arsames on horseback to right, holding two javelins in his left hand and hurling a third one at a leaping lion before. Kovacs 2. Rare. Minor flan fault, otherwise, nearly very fine.
