LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.72 g, 11 h). Head of Demeter to right, hair bound in topknot. Rev. METAΠON Barley ear with leaf to left; above leaf, palmette. HN Italy 1540. Noe 480 ( same dies ). SNG ANS 363 ( same dies ). Rare. A lovely issue of fine style. Slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
