Description

CAMPANIA. Neapolis. Circa 320-300 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.15 g, 7 h). Diademed head of a nymph to right, wearing earring and necklace; behind, grape. Rev. NEAΠΟΛITΩN Man-headed bull walking to right; above, Nike flying right to crown the bull; below bull, O. HN Italy 571. Sambon 446. Nicely toned. Scratch on the obverse and the reverse a bit weak, otherwise, very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the early 20th century (with collector's ticket).
