★ Well struck and lustrous ★

KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.60 g, 1 h), Pella, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340/36-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below the horses, kantharos. Le Rider - (D98/R-, unlisted reverse die). Leu Web Auction 25 (2023), 315 ( same dies ). SNG ANS 138-43. A well struck and lustrous example. A few light marks and struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, good extremely fine.
