CARIA. Antiochia ad Maeandrum. Commodus, 177-192. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 28 mm, 13.33 g, 12 h), 177-180. Λ ΑVΡΗ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΑΝΤΙΟΧƐΩΝ // ΜΑΙΑΝΔΡΟ/Ϲ The river-god Maiandros reclining to left, holding long reed in his right hand and cornucopiae in his left, resting left on urn from which water flows. RPC IV.2 online 833. Attractive earthen highlights. Very fine.
