MEROVINGIANS. Rouen. Circa 700-725. Denier (Silver, 14 mm, 1.18 g), 'au buste et croix grecque'. Stylized male head to right, the hair devolved into a line of pellets; before, cross with annulet above and below. Rev. ROT[OMO] SI (or similar) Large rhombic cross with central pellet and surmounted by a small cross; two annulets in righthand angles. Belfort 5758. Depeyrot, Denier, -. Prou 2872. Of the highest rarity. A boldly struck and beautifully toned coin. Extremely fine.
