M. Plaetorius M.f. Cestianus, 57 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.75 g, 7 h), Rome. CESTIANVS Turreted and draped bust of Cybele to right; behind, forepart of a lion; to right, globe. Rev. M•PLAETORIVS•AED•CVR•EX•S•C Curule chair; to left, hammer. Babelon (Plaetoria) 3. Crawford 409/2. RBW 1484. Sydenham 808. A lovely piece with beautiful old collection toning. Very minor flan fault on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
