CILICIA. Epiphanea. Julia Mamaea, Augusta, 222-235. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 33 mm, 14.14 g, 6 h), CY 298 = 230/1. ΙΟΥΛ ΜΑΜΑΙΑΝ СЄΒΑϹΤΗΝ Diademed and draped bust of Julia Mamaea to right. Rev. ЄΠΙΦΑΝЄΩΝ H/Ч-Ϲ Zeus seated facing on throne, head to left, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter in his left; the throne resting on a wheeled platform drawn by two captives to left and right. RPC VI online 7481.1 = SNG von Aulock 5553 ( same dies ). Extremely rare, the third known example. An interesting issue with a very unusual reverse. Areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
