★ An extremely rare hemiassarion of Lucilla from Sala ★

LYDIA. Sala. Lucilla, Augusta, 164-182. Hemiassarion (Orichalcum, 18 mm, 3.58 g, 5 h). ΛΟYΚΙΛΛΑ СЄΒΑС Draped bust of Lucilla to right. Rev. CAΛHNΩN Hermes standing front, head to left, holding purse in his right hand and caduceus in his left and with chlamys draped over his left arm. RPC IV online 2854 (2 examples). Extremely rare, apparently the third and best known example. A lovely small coin of splendid late Antonine style. Extremely fine.
