JUDAEA, First Jewish War. 66-70 CE. Shekel (Silver, 21 mm, 13.76 g, 12 h), Jerusalem, Year 2 = 67/8. 'Shekel of Israel' (in Hebrew) Omer cup; above, 'Y 2' (in Hebrew). Rev. 'Jerusalem the holy' (in Hebrew) Sprig of three pomegranates. Meshorer 193. Hendin 1358. Kadman 8. A beautifully toned and very sharply struck exampe. Extremely fine.
