ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.86 g, 1 h). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath and taenia. Rev. HΡAKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club in his right hand and with lion's skin draped over his left arm; in inner left field, monogram. HGC 6, 359. SNG Copenhagen 1045. Minor marks and with a light scrape on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
