ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.36 g, 12 h). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath and taenia. Rev. HΡAKΛEOΥΣ - ΣΩTHΡOΣ / ΘAΣIΩN Herakles standing front, head to left, holding club in his right hand and with lion's skin draped over his left arm; in inner left field, monogram. HGC 6, 359. SNG Ashmolean 3700. Minor marks and with traces of overstriking on the obverse and an area of horn silver on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
