★ The largest and most impressive denomination of the Pahlavi coinage (10 Pahlavi) ★

IRAN, Pahlavis. Muhammad Reza Shah, AH 1320-1358 / AD 1941-1979. 10 Pahlavi SH 1358 = 1979 (Gold, 49 mm, 81.36 g, 12 h), Tehran. محمّدرضا شاه پهلوى آريامهر شاهنشاه ايران (Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi Aryamehr the King of Iran) / ۱۳۵۸ (1358) Bare head of Muhammad Reza Shah to left. Rev. ده پهلوى (Ten Pahlavi) Lion and sun (Pahlavi coat of arms) above denomination, all within wreath. Friedberg 98a. KM 1213. In PCGS encapsulation, graded MS64, the second highest graded. Very rare. Very minor scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.

This attractive issue represents the largest and most impressive denomination of the Pahlavi coinage. The piece is particularly rare and impressive because it was minted for the year SH 1358, which is after the revolution that occurred in SH 1357.
