Description

IRAN, Qajars. Nasir al-Din Shah, AH 1264-1313 / AD 1848-1896. Toman (Gold, 19 mm, 3.42 g, 11 h), type R, Hamadan, AH 1266 = AD 1849/50. The king’s name and title in a circle surrounded by dots, ‘al-sulṭān ibn al-sulṭān Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh-e Qājār’ (‘Sultan, son of Sultan, Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar’ in Arabic/Persian). Rev. Within a dotted circle, ‘zarb-e balade-ye tayyebe-ye Hamadān 1266’ (‘Struck in the good city of Hamadan. 1266’ in Persian). Album 2921. Some areas of weakness and with a few light nicks, otherwise, extremely fine.
