Description

★ Very well centered and sharply struck ★

IRAN, Qajars. Fath 'Ali Shah, as Shah, AH 1212-1250 / AD 1797-1834. Toman (Gold, 24 mm, 4.60 g, 2 h), type W, Yazd, AH 1233 = AD 1817/8. The king’s name and title within a dotted circle, ‘al-sulṭān ibn al-sulṭān Fatḥ ʿAlī Shāh Qājār’ (‘Sultan, son of Sultan, Fath ʿAli Shah Qajar’ in Arabic/Persian). Rev. Within a central circle surrounded by floral designs and a dotted circle, ‘zarb-e dār al-ʿibāda Yazd, 1233’ (‘Struck in the Abode of Worship Yazd, 1233’ in Persian). Album 2865. Very well centered and sharply struck. Extremely fine.
