Description

SELEUKID KINGS. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.36 g, 1 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris I, circa 296/5-281. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEYKOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and Nike standing right in his right; to left, NO; below throne, Σ. SC 119.3b. Smoothing and scratches, otherwise, very fine.
