LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.78 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with Skylla hurling a stone; behind, E. Rev. [HPAKΛEIΩN] - APIΣ Herakles standing facing, head to left, holding club in his right hand and bow, arrow and lion's skin in his left; to upper left, owl standing right. HN Italy 1385. Van Keuren 87. Clear and attractive. Struck on the usual slightly short flan. Good very fine.
