LOWER DANUBE. Geto-Dacians. 1st century BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.23 g, 9 h), imitating a Roman Republican denarius of Gargilius, Ogulnius and Vergilius (86 BC). Wreathed head of Apollo to right; below, thunderbolt; to left, XV. Rev. Jupiter in galloping quadriga to right, hurling thunderbolt in his right hand and holding reins in his left; above, X; in exergue, NOB. Crawford 350A/1 (for possible prototype). Some flatness and with light scratches, otherwise, about very fine.
