KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.23 g, 12 h), Magnesia on the Maeander, struck under Menander or Kleitos, circa 323-319 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟY Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, bee to right; between scepter and name, spearhead. Price P50. Very rare with the spearhead between Zeus' scepter and Philip's name. Some scratches and with a light die shift on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
