KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.05 g, 11 h), Tyre, struck under Menes, RY 25 of 'Ozmilk, King of Tyre = 325/4. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in left field, Phoenician 'K above II III = (date). Price 3262 ('Ake'). Well centered and with a bold eastern head of Herakles. Light roughness, otherwise, about extremely fine.
