★ Well centered and beautifully toned ★

KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.17 g, 12 h), Tarsos, struck under Menes or Philotas, circa 327-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, plow; below throne and to inner right, •. Price 3018. Well centered and beautifully toned. Minor die-shift on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection, ex Elsen 154, 17 March 2023, 35, and previously from the Ettien Page Collection, privately acquired in July 1977.
