KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.26 g, 12 h), Amphipolis, struck under Philip III, circa 320/19 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram. Price 121. Nicely toned and well struck. Minor graffito in reverse field, otherwise, good very fine.
