MACEDON, Chalkidian League. Circa 420-379 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 14.22 g, 12 h), Olynthos. Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. X-A-Λ-[KIΔ]-EΩN Kithara with eight strings. Robinson & Clement Group L, 59 (A40/ P53). cf. AMNG III 7; SNG ANS 479 ( same dies ). Boldly struck in high relief and with a wonderful head of Apollo. Somewhat porous, otherwise, extremely fine.
