L. Plautius Plancus, 47 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.64 g, 9 h), Rome. L•PLAVTIVS Facing head of Medusa with coiled serpent on either side. Rev. PLANCV[S] Victory (or winged Aurora) flying right, head to left, holding reins and conducting four rearing horses of the sun. Babelon (Plautia) 15. Crawford 453/1a. RBW 1583. Sydenham 959. A beautiful piece with a perfectly centered obverse. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
