TON AN/ΘVΠATON / KAI RЄCTH / KⲰNCTAN/TINON ('I show that Konstantinos Garidas, anthypatos and vestes, is now koiaistor') in five lines. Unpublished in the standard references. An interesting new seal type with a metric legend. Minor marks and scratches, otherwise, very fine.

From a European collection, formed before 2005.

This seal must belong to the same Konstantinos Garidos who inscribed another seal type with the same legend, but with different ranks. It reads 'I show that Konstantinos Garidas, hypatos and skribas, is now patrikios' (Laurent, Corpus II 1198). The ranks on our seal are more elevated, which indicates that it attests to a later stage of Konstantinos' career.
