Septimius Severus, 193-211. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 2.30 g, 7 h), Alexandria, 195. IMP C AEL SEP SEV PER[T AVG] Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. APOLLINI [AVGV]STO Apollo standing front, head to left, holding patera in his right hand and lyre in his left. Bickford-Smith p. 56, pl. 1, 9. BMC 320. Cohen 42. RIC 345. An attractive and unusually well preserved Alexandrian issue. Slightly porous, otherwise, about extremely fine.
